A little context on the existence of this site. I created this blog as a place to immortalize my thoughts on all things travel. A little hedonistic I know, especially considering there are an infinite number of travel blogs clogging up cyberspace. But after conducting extensive research that entailed untold hours of blog scanning, I felt I could bring something different to the table.
During my investigative phase, I often felt like I was reading a cut and paste from Wikipedia, or that the content was vaguely familiar, perhaps a recycle or upcycle. Much of the time, I almost developed RSI from the continual scroll to eternity.
I discovered that travel bloggers fit neatly into categories. There are those whose mission is to impart practical, nuts and bolts information to their audience, like “How to get from…” or “Best places to visit in…” Some bloggers like to regale their audience with things that happened to them on their journey, cataloguing the minutiae of each and every moment. Others blog for a purpose, focusing on cultural travel, social issues or sustainability.
And then there are those who start with intent and purpose around a set idea of what to write about, but quietly meander off the trail until they are so far down a different track, then it gets dark, you can’t even see the track anymore, and there’s no circling back. That’s me!
So, here’s my tagline….Here to amuse and hopefully inform!
